Via Vasto, Milano

Interior | Renovation

The apartment, originally distributed according to a 1950s layout, in which the rooms opened onto a long dark corridor, has acquired brightness and softness thanks to the use of color and the enhancement of the large windows. In the new configuration, the apartment has lost all its sharp edges and gained new proportions in the spaces, to adapt to the property and its desire for intimacy. Chromatic leitmotif, an extremely restful light green, from which small spots of color stand out, such as that of the red Cargo sofa in the living room and the many contemporary works of art that embellish the house. Design elements and local craftsmanship give a modern touch to the home: around the very modern monolithic white Riflessi table in Corian, we find classic Chiavarine chairs. On the modern coffee tables, on the sides of the sofa, two large Fontata Arte illuminate the scene. I have been recovering the doors, which have new glass, opaline as originally, to guarantee the transparency of the era in which the building was built. The entrance was emphasized by a new custom boiserie, which resembles ashlar.
